Fishing Locations

This isolated fly-in resort is ideally situated on beautiful Berry Island, part of a provincial park (53 acres privately owned by the resort and the only island occupant). Near the top of Vancouver Island and overlooking the dramatic Inside Passage. Blackfish Sound is our front yard and home of Killer Whales as well as an excellent fishing ground.

Farewell Harbour certainly proves that hard-core fishing and luxury accommodations make a great combination.
Types of Fish
Farewell Harbour Resort is in the heart of the best salmon and halibut fishing on the west coast of Canada. You will be fishing for the five species of salmon - Chinook, Coho, Sockeye, Pink and Chum, our season starts in early June and runs through mid-September. We can honestly say that we are right in the middle of the fishing action. About Us
We can honestly say that we are right in the middle of the fishing action. Fishing in protected waters with experienced guides and the finest of boats and gear adds up to the perfect trip to British Columbia.

So, when do you schedule your trip? Both the fishing and the weather are unpredictable, but we can proudly say both are usually excellent during almost any part of our season.

You'll have a great fishing experience whatever dates you pick.

We fish with two guests and a guide to each boat and we provide all fishing tackle, necessary bait and lures. Our fishing rods are custom made and we furnish single action Shimano reels (conventional reels also available).

Although most of you will be coming for the salmon fishing, we have excellent bottom fishing. There is fine halibut fishing right in the harbour. We've caught halibut right off the dock - one weighing 249 lbs, so the harbour fishing can be fun.
Accommodations/ Lodge and Resort

The resort operates on the American Plan and we are proud of our gourmet meals that tend to the Pacific Northwest with fresh local seafood. Dining and lounge areas open onto spacious decks. The six large guest rooms (we only cater to twelve guests), each with private bath, are tastefully decorated and warmed by their own wood burning stoves. Every room affords panoramic views of shore life, seascape and woodland. An eight-foot Jacuzzi on the lodge deck is ideal for that after-fishing relaxation.

During the non-fishing hours, the island and surrounding areas offers interesting and unique experiences. Forest trails, beach walks, exploring and generally enjoying this spectacular country all contribute to your visit. In addition, you will most likely see black bears, seals, otters, mink, the magnificent bald eagles and the awe inspiring killer whales - we're only a few miles from the famous Robson Bight Whale Reserve.

Our staff's only aim is to ensure you an unforgettable stay and an exciting fishing experience while visiting us in British Columbia.
World class fly-fishing for black bass - a world class experience.
