Fishing Locations
Ole's is based on a floating fishing lodge in Hakai Pass. We are located 330 miles Northwest of Vancouver, on British Columbia’s spectacular west coast which is a world-renowned destination for sport fishers and outdoor enthusiasts!

Getting Here: From Vancouver you will fly to Port Hardy on Northern Vancouver Island, then transfer to a float plane for the final 40 minute flight directly to Ole's floating fishing lodge. You will arrive in time for a superb lunch before your orientation and an afternoon of great salmon fishing adventures!
Types of Fish
Hakai Pass is world-famous for unsurpassed salmon fishing. For thousands of years, huge runs of Chinook (king) salmon, Coho (silver) salmon as well as Sockeye, Chum and Pink salmon crowd through Hakai Pass from the open Pacific Ocean headed for the rivers and streams where their life began. Besides salmon, there's good fishing here for halibut, lingcod, red snapper and rockfish.

About Us
There are some places, luckily, that are still untouched and largely inaccessible, and British Columbia's Central Coast remains a first choice destination. Accessible only by float plane or boat, you don't have to worry about fighting off the crowds here. You can relax and enjoy the pristine wilderness in our protected waters. Eagles, Humpback Whales, Orca, Dolphins, Sea Lions and Seals are also frequent visitors. So remember to bring along your camera, you'll be amazed at what you'll see at Ole's on British Columbia’s beautiful west coast.

For over two decades Ole's Fishing Lodge has called BC's west coast home during the prime summer months of June through to early September. Located within minutes of the Trophy Salmon fishing hot spots, Ole's quickly developed a solid reputation for world class fishing for Chinook and Coho Salmon, Halibut, Red Snapper and Ling Cod in protected un-crowded waters.

Our location provides a true wilderness experience amid spectacular scenery, where our Lodge is anchored in a secluded bay only minutes away from the prime fishing grounds.

Ole's offers exceptional value with our truly all-inclusive 4 or 5 day fly-in packages with private accommodations for individuals, couples, families or groups up to 24. With the opportunity to fish in protected waters close to the lodge or explore new fishing grounds, Ole's is a natural choice for a holiday adventure of a lifetime.

Enjoy carefree days, everything being taken care of by our experienced, enthusiastic young staff. Fabulous food, world class fishing and genuine hospitality are what you can expect from this comfortable, clean, full service family run Fishing Lodge.
Tradition
"Ole's was established in 1982 by Irv and Joanne Olsen.  The Olsen family had been logging on the coast since the 50's and were familiar with Hakai Pass for it's fantastic fishing.  They knew of a sheltered bay close to the fishing grounds with a freshwater supply and this was the ideal location which they chose to set up their fishing Lodge.   Irv and Joanne and the Olsen family operated the lodge for many years and built up a very loyal and keen following based on the genuine hospitality and caring approach they took to looking after their guests.  In 1996 after their family had grown and moved on to their own careers, Irv and Joanne wanted to spend more of their summers in town.   Ernie Daley joined Ole' s that summer as General Manager and his staff have continued the tradition of customer service excellence in a world class location to this day.  This cheerful, energetic, hardworking young crew has become the cornerstone of Ole's success. The Olsen family is still a very involved partner in the ongoing success of operations."

"It's no wonder you have so many repeat guests here, great fishing, nice clean rooms, your fabulous Chef, the staff and crew are always two steps ahead of our needs. I was very impressed with the professional and cheerful nature of the hard working crew here at Ole's. I'll definitely be back"     Bo Fredrick, NY
