Fishing Locations

Tyee Lake Resort is situated centrally in the heart of British Columbia’s Cariboo Chilcotin region on locally renowned Tyee Lake, and adjacent to some of the areas most treasured fishing waters. Our location offers easy access to the literally hundreds of secluded lakes, streams, rivers and creeks that make up some of the best trout fishing in the Northwest.

We offer guided fly fishing days or packages for Trout on our still waters (lakes) as well as rivers (seasonal). Our resident guides are on the water to keep up with current hatches and conditions to deliver an outstanding fishing experience.

Distance from Vancouver is approximately 650km. Driving time 7hrs.
Types of Fish
Our guests fish Tyee Lake lodge primarily for kokanee salmon, although trout fishing on the shoals in front of the lodge can be productive. We provide bathometric maps for many of our local lakes. There are but a few places in North America to fish such pristine, highly productive, alkaline lakes as offered in the Cariboo; a few of which are only minutes from the resort. Also fish for specked and brook trout.

Tyee Lake in all its splendor spreads out below you. Wild osprey, bald eagles, and loons are a constant attraction. Often you'll hear a 'SPLASH' as the osprey dive into the lake.

There are many books, games and the fly tying station all available for your intertainment. You're also welcome to borrow a wide selection of DVD and VHS movies or X-Box games.
