Born and raised in the province of Ontario, Alan was fortunate to be brought up fishing his summers away on the many lakes surrounding his parents' cottage. As he grew older, his passion for fishing led him to explore many lakes and river systems throughout Southern Ontario. Over the past 15+ year Alan has gained valuable knowledge and expreience chasing top game fish, some of which include bass, pike, walleye, musky, trout, salmon, and carp. In 2000 Alan decided to travel to the otherside of the world, to New Zealand. With his eagerness to explore, and obession for angling he quickly learned the water systems and adapted to local angling methods. This landed him a position as a fly-fishing guide on and around Lake Taupo where he stayed for two years guiding clients from around the world. After returning back to Canada 2003 Alan's infatuation for fishing led him North. Alan's great people skills, customer service, earned him a guiding position at the prestigious Frontier Fishing Lodge on Great Slave Lake, North West Territories. Over the past two summers Alan was focussed on providing world class expriences for his clients landing Trophy Lake Trout, Arctic Grayling, Northern Pike. Alan is a competitive angler, always eager to explore new waters and experiment with new techniques. While in New Zealand he won an international fly fishing tournament. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and teaching people how to fish, and his great personality and positive attitude are tough to come by. When he's not guiding, you will find Alan wading the riverbanks for trout or on his boat hunting for salmon. ![]() |

| Want to have an outstanding fishing adventure? You should consider booking a trip with Alan Slocombe of Al’s Adventures. Having fished with Al at Great Slave Lake and on Lake Ontario and the lakes around Toronto, I can attest to his abilities as a guide. His knowledge of fishing methods and dedication to the success of his clients is unsurpassed. Al consistently put us on large numbers of Lake Trout, King Salmon, Northern Pike and Rainbow Trout. One morning on Great Slave Lake, we caught over fifty Lake Trout with average weights between 10-19 lbs. With Al as our guide, I caught the largest Lake Trout, King Salmon and Rainbow Trout in a lifetime of fishing. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, personable and hardworking guide, you should book a trip with Al’s Adventures. Al Bushway Veazie, ME |
