Fishing Locations

LAC SEUL is by far our largest fresh water fishery in the area.  Actually, Lac Seul is the second largest inland fishery in all of Ontario.
It has its own fishing regulations in order to ensure the fishery remains healthy for generations to come. 
Lac Seul is accessed by several launches located throughout the area.  The closest launch that Country Camping guests use is located just two miles from camp called Lost Bay Launch.  If assistance is required in respect to trailering  your boat we are are more than happy to provide it to you.  The next most popular access is located just 20 miles north of  town called Deception Landing.  Both launch areas are maintained by the town of Sioux Lookout who pride themselves in providing our visitors with facilities that are kept in top notch condition at all times.

Types of Fish
When fishing Lac Seul you have the opportunity to fish four different species on any given day.  Lac Seul yields - Walleye as the most popular species, then of course there is northern, muskie and smallmouth bass. Lac Seul offers something for everyone, no matter what your preference is. 
Camping


Country Camping can accommodate motor homes, trailers, fifth wheels, truck campers, van campers, tent trailers and tents.  We have plenty of pull through sites and group camping is more than welcome. Campsites located right along the shoreline of Big Vermilion Lake are plentiful.  Keep your vehicle close and park right at your own private site.

Country Camping offers sunny and shaded sites, exclusive use of bathhouse with immaculate washroom facilities and free hot showers.
Firewood for sale cut, split and delivered to your site.  Fishing licenses, fishing expertise from the camp manager, trailering of boats to various launches and 30 amp full hook ups.

Individual and private fire pits for your evening bonfires or cooking the evening meal.  Pets are allowed providing you take full responsibility for clean up and ensure the comfort of other guests is not jeopardized.

Just a short drive away you will have access to groceries, medical facilities, local restaurants, etc. in the town of Sioux Lookout. Take a break from fishing and swim with the fish - right off the dock.  Maybe the kids would enjoy a quiet paddleboat ride, whatever your choice, we’re here to make it happen.

The Blueberry Festival is a real highlight for the town of Sioux Lookout and runs for a full ten days.  Ten days filled with activities such as outdoor BBQ’s, the popular Bannock Challenge bake off, Bocce Tournament, Socials, Golf and Tennis Tournaments just to list a few. The Blueberry Festival kicks off the first week in August and we will be happy to provide you with a complete Schedule of Events.   Come and join us !!!!

About Us
Open from mid May to the end of September, Country Camping offers a variety of fishing weather, and conditions. May and June are considered the spring season with Walleye and Northrn fresh out of the spawn - the action is brisk. The Perch know no season and are plentiful throughout the year.

Summer, July and August produces some of our best fishing although it is done in considerably deeper waters. The plus to deep water fishing is that more trophies are caught during the summer period than at any other time.

September or the fall season brings the fishing back into shallow waters and some exciting casting action. Whatever time you choose you will want to bring your camera for the lakes surrounding you are loaded with wildlife as well as the renowned sunsets and Canadian northern lights.
Accommodations

COZY, COMFORTABLE AND CLEAN. Four spacious cottages that sleep up to six comfortably. Modern, immaculately clean with 12'x16' porches. Equipped with brand new Sealy beds, new carpeting, electric lights, refrigerator, stove, all cooking appliances. Outside propane Bar-B-Que's alongside picnic tables and fire pits. Free use of the fish house, freezer and dockage.

A camp manager is on site 24/7 to assist in anything you may need to ensure your stay is comfortable.

RV sites with full hookups, picnic tables and fire pits are also available.
