About Us
Merkel’s Camp: Has been owned and operated by the same family since it’s very first summerseason in 1963! Not something very many resort/camp owners can say in all honesty. Terry has been a part of the camp all his life; beginning with riding the bulldozer as it built the road into camp and later helping out in all aspects of camp life, from dockboy to guide and all the dirty jobs in between!
We live year round at our camp and work very hard to create an atmosphere that makes our
guests want to come back, again and again.
We all work tirelessly to ensure a consistent Quality Vacation experience.

Merkel’s BED & BREAKFAST
Enjoy our lakeside rooms with private entrance. Our accommodations include 2 very comfortable
bedrooms with a shared three piece bath. In your living room area, you can enjoy wireless
internet, satellite TV, CD player and gas fireplace. A fabulous view of our secluded bay awaits you
outside your door. We offer a modified homestyle meal plan tailored to suit your schedule.

Our Drive-to cabin is an amazing experience...the seclusion of a fly-in camp with the convenience
of driving! Pine interior, fireplace, sauna, satellite TV, fully equipped kitchen, sleeps 10 comfortably.
Fish species include Walleye, Northern, Whitefish, Perch and Lake Trout.
Over 10,000 acres of fabulous fishing or eco-vacationing. There are endless area to canoe,
kayak,& photograph.

HUNTING: Black Bear, Whitetail Deer, Wolf, Grouse and Duck Hunts
We offer an exclusive hunting package tailored to specifically suit you. Being from the area and
one of the original Whitetail Deer, Black Bear and Timber Wolf outfitters, we have the experience
to offer you the hunt of a lifetime! We limit the number of hunters to ensure Quality and Success.

Northwestern Ontario, Sunset Country Region Merkel's Camp is situated on a beautifully treed point overlooking Wabigoon Lake with housekeeping wilderness cabins and RV sites right on the lakeshore. The scenery is spectacular and the privacy is guaranteed. Wildlife is abundant and there are countless nooks and crannys to explore. The Wabigoon, Dinorwic area is an exhilerating reminder of why you love to come back to Canadian waters. Fish and explore with us - you won't forget it! You’re Pleasure is our Business! This has become our motto due to the excellent service and accommodations we’ve provided for our guests in the past years. Types of Fish
Our main camp is centrally located on the Wabigoon/Dinorwic chain of lakes offering over 250
miles of shoreline to explore. There are opportunities for a world record in numerous species -
Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Muskie, Perch and Crappie.
Excellent fishing conditions await anglers of all levels. There are plenty of islands to explorethe
scenery is spectacular and the privacy is guaranteed.join us.
Prices & Packages
Unlike other camps or resorts our rates are designed to allow the flexibility to bring your own boat
or rent from us, bring your RV, rent boats, buy just gas, you get the idea. Were not going to
charge for something you are not using. We cater to suit your needs. Our cabins, grounds,
boats/motors are all well maintained and our docking area is nicely sheltered and completely safe
for leaving personal/fishing items in boats.
Merkel’s Camp has 5 very comfortable, fully equipped modern cabins that include all bedding,
bath and kitchen towels, gas grills with propane, deck chairs, electric stove and refrigerator,
individual propane hot water tank and heat.
All cabins boast an amazing view overlooking your “office”!
Lakeside RV Sites with full hook-ups available. Central shower/bathrooms and laundromat area.
